He conspired with princess Dai to overthrow Sui dynasty, but later killed her on Sui orders to marry the princess Anyi, who in turn was assassinated by Yung-Yulu. He fled to China, and returned only after the death of Tulan Qaghan. He married Princess Yicheng, and ruled as a Chinese vassal.
